An invitation to think, question, and write.
The Manifesto for Generative AI in Higher Education was never meant to end on the page.
It grew from conversations, classrooms, and quiet margins, a reflection of how teaching and learning are being reimagined in an age of abundance. Now, we’re inviting educators, researchers, and creative practitioners to extend that conversation through a new collective volume: a book of short essays inspired by the Manifesto’s thirty statements.
The concept
This edited collection will serve as a living companion to the Manifesto – a space where its ideas meet lived experience. Each contribution (around 1,000 words) will explore one of the Manifesto statements, interpreting it through practice, research, or reflection. Contributors are encouraged to connect theory with story, showing how GenAI is reshaping – or revealing – the human work of education.
Themes
Essays will be grouped under the Manifesto’s three intertwined themes:
- Rethinking Teaching and Learning – curiosity, collaboration, and the changing craft of education.
- Responsibility, Ethics, and Power – transparency, equity, and the moral architecture of our institutions.
- Imagination, Humanity, and the Future – creativity, conscience, and the possibilities ahead.
You can view all thirty statements at https://genain3.ie/files/manifesto/
Submission process
- Submit a brief Expression of Interest (150 words) stating which Manifesto statement you wish to write about and your proposed angle.
- Essays should be approximately 1,000 words in length, written in clear, accessible language suitable for an interdisciplinary higher-education audience.
- Co-authored or cross-institutional pieces are welcome.
- Contributions will be published open access under a Creative Commons BY-SA 4.0 licence.
Timeline
- Expressions of Interest due: Monday, 15th December 2025
- Confirmations to contributors: by Monday, 12th January 2026
- Full drafts due: Friday, 28th February 2026
